Our 7th year at the Edinburgh Fringe is going to be our biggest and our best.
We are putting on TEN UNIQUE BLUES SHOWS from August 4th to the 26th. You read that right. We look forward to defending our crown of hardest working band at the Edinburgh Fringe. And as we did last year, we’re bringing some very talented friends along for the ride.
Here’s what we have going on for your viewing and listening pleasure…see you there!
BLUES!: It’s the seventh year of our classic award-winning show, presenting a musical history of the blues genre as played by our top notch 12 piece band.
Queens of the Blues: The excellent Nicole Smit fronts a show celebrating the women who have influenced and changed blues music.
Toby Mottershead: Our good pal, peerless bluesman, and lead singer of The Black Diamond Express presents his own personal history of early blues and roots music.
Cat Loud: Our good pal Cat Loud returns with her usual mischief, fiery sass, and purr of a voice.
Live at the Jazz Bar: The core six piece Blueswater band brings sweat and chaos to our favorite intimate small music club, The Jazz Bar.
Smitten: The smoky pop trio, featuring Nicole and Charlie from Blueswater, play their own sultry original songs at The Jazz Bar.
Bala Baile: A latin quartet featuring some of the boys from the BLUES! band, Bala Baile plays original songs in Spanish, blending Boogaloo, Cuban son, and blues.
The Porch Band Audience Picks: A three piece incarnation of the band keeps it swampy and raucous, creating a set list with help from the audience and social media.
Down The Rabbit Hole: That sassy Cat Loud hosts a special showcase featuring her favourite singers and songwriters.
The Big Blues Showcase: Every musician and singer from the Blueswater Fringe family is going to be involved in this, a big two hour party featuring some of the best blues of the Fringe. There is also a bar in the theatre itself. Nice.
